Hello. I’m John Chatelain.
John teaches beginning and intermediate electric bass lessons, guitar lessons and ukulele lessons. A jack-of-all-genres, John is happy to jump into any style if it’s not already represented by one of our specialist teachers.
John Chatelain’s Lessons
John’s lessons—on bass, ukulele, or guitar— use a combination of method books (to build a foundation) and his own unique exercises (to target and develop specific techniques glossed over in the methods).
The right notes at the right time, part of learning music is knowing scales, patterns, and progressions.
If you don’t develop that internal sense of rhythm, playing your instrument just wont be as fun.
Knowing how to play through a mistake is a skill too.
John brings years of experience—both in teaching and performing—from a wide variety of genres including Jazz, Rock, Bluegrass, Jam, Celtic, Americana, and more.
